Scrapbook, 1861-1885.

The scrapbook was compiled by Ezekiel Dimond and covers the time during which he taught at the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts, 1868-1876. He also collected information about other agricultural colleges and agriculture in general.

Professor Ezekiel Webster Dimond was born in Warner, NH in 1836. He graduated from Middlebury College in 1865. He became the first professor of the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts in 1868 where he worked until his death in 1876. The New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts was established as a Land-Grant College in 1866 in Hanover, NH. The school moved to Durham, NH in 1893 and changed its name to the University of New Hampshire in 1923.
